Mass From America’s Largest Church in Washington Now Airing on CatholicTV

CatholicTV now airs the Mass from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Mass can be viewed via live webstream at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV cable. The Mass from the Basilica airs every Saturday at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. (Eastern).

Each Mass is also archived at http://www.CatholicTV.com/National-Shrine-Mass and can be viewed at any time without charge or obligation.

Each week’s Mass airs from the crypt of the Basilica, the very place where Pope Benedict XVI addressed the American bishops during his apostolic visit to the U.S. in 2008.
According to Wikipedia, the National Shrine "is the largest Catholic church in the United States, the eighth largest religious structure in the world, and the tallest building in Washington, D.C."

The basilica houses an incredible 70 chapels honoring Mary. The main seating area of the Basilica is surrounded by chapels which have images of well-known Marian apparitions such as Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and many others. These chapels in the main seating area all contain beautiful mosaics which are rarely seen in the modern churches in the United States.

More information about the Basilica is available at http://www.nationalshrine.com/
