CatholicTV Series Explores Religious Order Recently Assigned To Minister To 60,000 Students in Boston’s Fenway Area

On April 19th, Cardinal Seán O’Malley, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Boston, announced a major expansion of campus ministry in the Fenway area of Boston.

With the support of Archdiocese, the Brotherhood of Hope (BOH) will launch a new initiative which would expand the BOH’s outreach from two universities to about ten in the Fenway area of Boston.

The BOH is a relatively young religious order (founded 1980) which specializes in campus ministry at secular colleges and universities.

CatholicTV recently launched a television series exploring the work of the BOH called “Hope on Campus”. The series includes interviews of BOH members as well as student-produced footage of the BOH’s activities and work on campus. The series has episodes titled “Mission to Tanzania”, “Sex and Life on Campus”, “Opening Week Evangelization”, and much more. Hope on Campus airs each week at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV cable outlets.

“As their name implies, they bring hope to students in a very personal, individual, and joyful manner”, said Laura Moreno, a medical student at Boston University.

“The brothers were an integral part of my early faith formation, making themselves available to field my faith-related questions, but also showing me that pious men can still talk sports and enjoy a good beer every now and then”, said Alex Johnson, an alumnus of Northeastern University in Boston.

Cardinal Seán O’Malley said of the BOH, “Their twenty-five years of experience in campus ministry will provide us the opportunity to develop a community of college and university students centered in the Eucharist.”

Hope on Campus airs each Tuesday on CatholicTV at 8:30 p.m. Archived episodes can be seen now at http://www.CatholicTV.com/campus-ministry

New CatholicTV Show Highlights Lives and Spirituality of Catholic College Students and a Unique Religious Order

Starting September 6th, CatholicTV will air a new program called “Hope on Campus”. Hope on Campus follows the relatively young religious order- (est. 1980) the Brotherhood of Hope (BOH).

Each episode includes an on-site, student-produced video. Episode themes include:

Mission to Tanzania: Students volunteer to visit Tanzania and help the local community.

Sex and Life on Campus: BOH responds to “Sex Week” and gathers students from all four of their campuses for a trip to the March for Life in Washington, D.C.

Opening Week Evangelization: Shows how BOH and Catholic students welcome new students to campus and evangelize them.

CatholicTV broadcasts on various cable outlets in the U.S. and streams its broadcast 24/7 at CatholicTV.com.
