Catholic Novel Reaches #1 on Amazon After St. Therese Novena? Author To Discuss on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On March 22nd, Michelle Buckman will be interviewed on the live CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”.

Michelle is the author of the Catholic novel Rachel’s Contrition. Michelle was astounded at the success of the book especially since very little marketing had been done.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, Michelle talked about how her novel reached #1 in the Women’s fiction category in October 2010. When asked if she had done a “big promotional event”, Michelle replied, “not unless you count the continuous novena to St. Therese that I had going for this book since the end of August.”

This is the Day airs at 10:30 a.m. ET at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV cable outlets. The show is rebroadcast at 7:30 p.m. and other times during the week.

Rachel’s Contrition is a book about a woman whose young daughter dies. This gives way to grief-spawned delusions which cause Rachel to lose her husband, her home, and custody of her son.

Help arrives from two unlikely sources: a young teen, Lilly, battling her own demons, and a tattered holy card depicting Saint Therese of Lisieux.

The 2011 Eucharistic Congress for College Students and Young Adults (The Eucharistic Congress) will also be discussed on This is the Day. The annual Eucharistic Congress, which takes place in Boston’s North End, includes a Eucharistic procession with hundreds of young people. Streets are temporarily blocked off for the procession and each year, onlookers watch with curiosity.

Fr. Matt Williams will appear on This is the Day to discuss the Eucharistic Congress. Fr. Matt is the Director of the Office of the New Evangelization of Youth and Young Adults of the Archdiocese of Boston.

Catholic Fantasy Author To Be Interviewed on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On December 14th, author Jim Anderson will be featured on the CatholicTV Talk Show “This is the Day”.

Jim is co-author of a fiction series which takes place in the ancient fantasy world of “Ahn Norvys”. He and co-author Mark Sebanc have recently released the 2nd book in the Stone Harp series called “The Darkling Fields of Arvon”.

In a recent interview with the student newspaper of Franciscan University of Steubenville (The Troubadour), Jim said, “His faith inspires everything he does. He recalled being at a fantasy convention in San Jose, near a church called St. Joseph’s Cathedral. “I thought it strange how there’s this fascination with fantasy going on at this convention and yet when you walk into the church, here’s the world of the truly fantastic,” he said. “Angels and demons and saints; the Church triumphant and the Church suffering.”

A teacher, musician, and poet, Jim earned both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. He, his wife, Lisa, and their three sons make their home on the Canadian prairies, not far from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where they work with the St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission.

Mark Sebanc has worked as an editor and translator, with several books to his credit. He holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Classics from the University of Toronto, and lives with his wife and children in the Upper Ottawa Valley of Ontario, Canada.

Beginning with America’s future leaders, FOCUS sends teams of young, trained, missionaries to the college campus in order to reach students with the gospel. In partnership with the university parish and/or Newman Center, FOCUS missionaries host large group outreach events, weekly Bible studies and offer one-on-one mentoring with student leaders.
