Catholic Fantasy Author To Be Interviewed on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On December 14th, author Jim Anderson will be featured on the CatholicTV Talk Show “This is the Day”.

Jim is co-author of a fiction series which takes place in the ancient fantasy world of “Ahn Norvys”. He and co-author Mark Sebanc have recently released the 2nd book in the Stone Harp series called “The Darkling Fields of Arvon”.

In a recent interview with the student newspaper of Franciscan University of Steubenville (The Troubadour), Jim said, “His faith inspires everything he does. He recalled being at a fantasy convention in San Jose, near a church called St. Joseph’s Cathedral. “I thought it strange how there’s this fascination with fantasy going on at this convention and yet when you walk into the church, here’s the world of the truly fantastic,” he said. “Angels and demons and saints; the Church triumphant and the Church suffering.”

A teacher, musician, and poet, Jim earned both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio. He, his wife, Lisa, and their three sons make their home on the Canadian prairies, not far from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where they work with the St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission.

Mark Sebanc has worked as an editor and translator, with several books to his credit. He holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Classics from the University of Toronto, and lives with his wife and children in the Upper Ottawa Valley of Ontario, Canada.

Also featured on This is the Day will be Amanda Graf, a missionary who ministers to students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Amanda is a missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). FOCUS is a national outreach that meets college students where they are and invites them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith.

Rooted in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, FOCUS was born out of a passion and zeal to share how a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith can transform the world. Beginning with America’s future leaders, FOCUS sends teams of young, trained, missionaries to the college campus in order to reach students with the gospel. In partnership with the university parish and/or Newman Center, FOCUS missionaries host large group outreach events, weekly Bible studies and offer one-on-one mentoring with student leaders.

Catholic Lawyer and Author of Courtroom Drama Novel Will Be Interviewed on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On July 23rd, Paul Turk, a Catholic attorney from the West Palm Beach area of Florida will be interviewed on the live CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”.

Paul is the author of the novel “Faith Beyond the Trials”, a legal novel which tells the story of a high-profile Palm Beach couple, a tense courtroom drama, and a faith that is tried and tested.

The novel’s court room scenes are based on Paul’s real life experiences as a litigator. It took him about three months to craft the novel.

This is the Day airs at 10:30AM ET at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV. The show is rebroadcast at 7:30PM.

Paul was raised Catholic and his faith has strengthened over the years.
As a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church (Wellington) for nearly three decades, Paul says he wanted to depict the fictional priest as a positive role model after seeing so much negative publicity about priests in the news.

“Priests have gotten so much bad press, yet there are so many incredible ones,” he contends. “One of my priests has become a lifelong hero for me.”
