Catholic Author Will Discuss Ministry and His Brush With Death on CatholicTV Talk Show

On November 13th, Sean McVeigh the author of “I’ve Got to Change” will appear on the CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”. “I’ve Got to Change” is a true story of a near-death experience, recovery, conversion, and the journey to God from a young person’s perspective. Sean McVeigh is a speaker and an author who gives talks about subjects such as the Eucharist, discerning God’s will, chastity, relationships, marriage, and more.

Below is an excerpt from Sean’s book, “I’ve Got to Change”. “We were dangerously close to the intersection when he finally locked up the brakes. The tires screamed! As for me in my little world, everything seemed to become dead silent and we started to move in slow motion. The speedometer came creeping back from the grave and could barely be seen lowering beneath 85. The last thing I remember THINKING as the car began to slide slightly to the right was, “We’re going to make it. We’ll slide right around the turn and be fine.” The last thing I remember SEEING was the stop sign flash past my head. At that moment, a loud roar of metal thunder ripped through the still night. We had smashed head-on into a tree doing at least 75 miles per hour. Just writing about it gives me the chills to this day.”

Sean McVeigh, founder of McVeigh Ministries Inc., was raised Catholic in a small rural town in Pennsylvania. He will discuss his ministries, and his story on “This is the Day”.

Sean’s interview can be seen on Friday, November 13th live at 10:30AM (EST) on CatholicTV where available (rebroadcast at 8PM). The show will also be streamed simultaneously at www.CatholicTV.com and will be available on the site’s archives starting Friday night. All videos at the website are viewable in full-screen. Drunk Driving, Death, and Redemption Discussed in Documentary on CatholicTV

During the week of July 13th, CatholicTV will air a documentary about a young man who drove drunk one night and killed 3 people. The documentary entitled “One Decision” includes the story of David Emigh, who grew up in a family of faith, and who made a terrible mistake which ultimately landed him in prison.

David Emigh was in many respects an average young man. He was captain of his high school soccer team, and went to the Dominican Republic to serve the poor. Afterwards, he attended Indiana University with hopes of becoming a teacher.

In July of 1998, David went out drinking with one his friends, Amy Titus. David remembers waking up handcuffed to a hospital bed. Beside him was the sheriff who said, “Son, you’ve just killed 3 people.” David was responsible for ending the lives of his best friend and two other students in a drunk-driving collision.

Ultimately, David served 5 months in prison was sentenced to years of probation and community service. In prison, he found himself to be one of few believers. In the documentary, David discusses how he “was used as a tool of God” to minister and to give hope to others during his brief, and frightening stay in prison. One prisoner wrote a letter to David which spoke of how David had given the man hope where there was no hope. David also describes how during one prison stint, he was placed in a cell with 3 Christian men, which David felt was due to God’s providence. The cell block housed about 100 convicts.

CatholicTV will air “One Decision” during the “Catholic Saints & Lay People” block during the week of July 14th-19th. The show will air at the following times (Eastern): Tuesday-11:30AM; Wednesday-5AM; Friday-8AM; Sunday 10:30PM.
