Catholic Filmmaker To Be Interviewed on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On August 17th, Catholic filmmaker David James will appear on the CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”.

James’ film company, Our Lady’s Tears (OLT) has produced a film about human suffering, and is currently working on a film about St. Germaine Cousin. OLT’s website calls St. Germaine’s unique story the “True-Life of Cinderella” because St. Germaine was treated with cruelty by her stepmother and forced to sleep in a barn.

This is the Day airs at 10:30AM ET at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV. The show is rebroadcast at 7:30PM.

The Labouré Society will also be featured on This is the Day. The Labouré Society exists to provide financial assistance to individuals who must eliminate student loans in order to pursue their vocation to priestly and/or religious life in the Catholic Church.

Upon discovering through a series of providential events that dioceses and religious communities require aspirants to be free of debt before entering formation, Minnesota businessman Cy Laurent began helping these aspirants resolve their financial impediments. It was simply unacceptable to Cy that the vocations Catholics had been praying for were being abandoned because of the crushing expense of a college education.

Cy Laurent, will be interviewed on This is the Day.

More information about The Labouré Society can be found at http://labouresociety.org/

OLT’s documentary about human suffering is entitled “Theology of Human Suffering: Understanding the Redemptive Nature of Human Suffering”. It was produced and written by David James.

The film looks at the “prevalence of the epidemics of obesity and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in American society, and their relationship with deep moral, physical, and spiritual sufferings”.

A Note From Jay Fadden

The other day I was walking through the halls of CatholicTV and reminisced about the past and pondered the future. It was very early in the morning so I was all alone at CatholicTV. I thought back to the early days with Father Frank and Jack Lawless. We had some wonderful times and a lot of laughs. Every achievement seemed new, each success was ground breaking. Msgr. McInerny succeeded Father Frank as Director and his friendship continues to be one that I still cherish.

Today Father Reed is the Director. He has brought CatholicTV to new heights with his vision, creativity and energy. We meet every morning at 7am to discuss the day. It is the one meeting that I look forward to because every discussion is about the advancement of CatholicTV. I realize how fortunate I am to be working here.

Every decision that I have made over my life has led me to my current position. God has been good! It is in realizing this that I become keenly aware of how important you are in bringing the Gospel message of Jesus into millions of homes. Your prayers and financial support have made all of this possible and for that I am eternally grateful. Some of you may live alone and I can picture you filling out the envelope and check on the kitchen counter or by the television. For some of you it is a great sacrifice and yet you give so willingly. I want you to know that your donation helps so many others, both young and old, who would not be able to participate in the Church. It is through your generosity that lives are impacted and changed. You are truly a friend to CatholicTV.

Thank you for your trust in us and know that we trust in you.

In conjunction with the CMN, the Catholic Writers Guild gathering will take place, for more information on this session visit http://www.catholicwritersguild.org/

The Catholic Marketing Network was founded by Alan Napleton in 1996 and was formed after years of discussions between Catholic professionals involved in a wide variety of activities related to the distribution of Catholic materials. Some were owners of Catholic gift and book stores, others were involved in the publishing of Catholic books and music or producing Catholic materials such as jewelry, statuary, or art.

There was a common agreement that there was no professional organization in existence that offered the opportunity for all of these diverse entities and individuals to come together for the purpose of making others aware of their activities, exchange information, network among each other and work together towards a common goal. CMN was formed in response to this need.

A featured event at this years CMN gathering is the U.S. film premiere of : Saint Augustine presented by Ignatius Press For more information on the CMN Trade Show, visit http://guest.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Summary.aspx?e=f535224e-fe19-40fe-b830-afaa9d736736

Money and Faith to Be Discussed on Live CatholicTV Talk Show

On July 30th, Thomas Zordani, author of “Faith Finances” will be interviewed on the live CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”.

Faith Finances came about through the real life experiences of its founder Thomas E. Zordani. After facing a period of homelessness and finding himself and his family in an unimaginable swamp of debt, he began a painstaking journey to gain financial knowledge and wisdom from the ultimate learning source, the Bible!

This is the Day airs at 10:30AM ET at CatholicTV.com and on CatholicTV. The show is rebroadcast at 7:30PM.

Mr. Zordani eagerly states, “Faith Finances is about becoming a true steward. With such stewardship responsibility comes the understanding that God owns everything we have (our possessions, our homes, our children and yes, even our money). Everything belongs to God. We are merely stewards of whatever He chooses to bless us with. It is our solemn duty to become the best stewards we are capable of becoming, and instilling within our children this very profound truth, so that they may grow and develop the necessary character to become themselves good stewards.”

Mr. Zordani also says that “True stewardship is about applying all of God's words to personal finances. It is about mastering the 3 Principles of biblical finances, the principles of giving, managing, and increase.” These concepts and a guide to mastering finances using biblical principles are detailed in his newly released book “Faith Finances” which may be ordered on his website.
