Black-Belt Priest Will Appear on Talk Show, Preside Over Mass, and Cook Food on CatholicTV

On July 14th, Fr. Leo Patalinghug, a priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, will appear on CatholicTV. He will con-celebrate the televised Mass with CatholicTV’s Director, Father Robert Reed, then make an appearance on the live talk show “This is the Day”. Fr. Leo will then tape cooking segments for broadcast at a later time.

Fr. Leo Patalinghug is not the average diocesan priest. He started a martial arts school, holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, hosts a cooking show on PBS, and holds theology degrees from Rome. He has been featured in Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, ABC World News, and The Denver Post mostly because of his cooking show based on his book “Grace Before Meals”. Father Leo serves as the Director of Pastoral Field Education at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Maryland.

Also on the show will be one of the members of Capstone Missions. Capstone Missions works to improve living conditions for Tijuana’s poor. They partner with other Catholics ministering in Tijuana in the spirit of Mother Teresa and Dorothy Day in providing for the needs of the most impoverished. Capstone Missions also provides cross-cultural service opportunities for donors and volunteers, especially young adults.

Daily Mass broadcasts live at 9:30AM and 7:30PM on Tuesday, July 14th. The talk show “This is the Day” airs at 10:30AM (EST) on CatholicTV where available (rebroadcast at 8PM).
