On December 18th, Dr. Jeffrey Karls, President of Magdalen College will appear on the CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”. Magdalen College, in Warner, New Hampshire, is a four-year coeducational Roman Catholic liberal arts college offering a curriculum based on the classic texts of Western civilization.
The college was established by Catholic laymen responding to the Second Vatican Council’s call for spiritual renewal. It was chartered August 22, 1973 and enrolled its first students in September 1974.
Magdalen, rated a ‘best buy’: the Center for the Study of Catholic Higher Education, the research division of The Cardinal Newman Society, recently issued a report on college costs, revealing that some of the most faithfully Catholic colleges and universities in the United States, including Magdalen College, offer students significant cost savings. This report was commissioned in response to the economic recession as a way of helping parents and students in their search for a college.
Dr. Karls is the 3rd president of Magdalen College and is an alumnus. He served as Executive Vice President before assuming the presidency in 1998. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute on Religious Life and the Sedes Sapientiae Foundation, which supports the Benedictine Monastery of San Benedetto in Norcia, Italy. He and his wife Julie have 9 children, their eldest daughter, Mary is a 2009 graduate.
His Eminence Seán Cardinal O'Malley, O.F.M. Cap, Archbishop of Boston, joined Magdalen College to launch the regional accreditation process with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). "You who make Magdalen College a reality are my heroes," Cardinal O'Malley said. "I am so grateful." Magdalen College is accredited by the American Academy for Liberal Education.

This statement by Magdalen College is completely false! Not more than 3 months after this program aired, Jeffrey Karls announced to the Magdalen College student body that he wanted to merge with Thomas More College in Merrimack NH, and that the goal of the merge would be to create a school of nearly 500students. "No more than 100 students...?" This college is in such deep financial problems that they will say anything to get money, students, or even publicity!
